UU San Mateo, CA/Ulay, Negros Island, Philippines Our Ulay partners live in a mountainous area northwest of San Carlos City on Negros Island in the central Philippines. We've always wanted to understand more about their everyday lives.
It’s nearly time for our General Assembly in Louisville, and I write to invite you to join us there. Also, in early February I had the opportunity to represent the UUPCC at the annual meeting of the Unitarian Union of Northeast India. In mid-January, your Board met over four days in Mt. Vernon, Virginia, doing the business of reshaping our strategic plan, celebrating a balanced budget, and seeking new ways of strengthening the hundreds of partnerships we have around the globe.
Each year at this time, we receive the recommended nominees to the UUPCC Board of Directors and to the Nominating Committee. There are four positions available on the Board, and one on the NomCom.
Rev. Dr. David Keyes is this year’s recipient of the Louis C. Cornish “Living the Mission” Award for 2013 in recognition of his dedication and commitment to the partnership movement.
This award is given annually to recognize those in our congregations who provide exceptional care for partnerships.
"Long Strange Trip" is a new film series produced by Ron Cordes. This six-part documentary details the history of Unitarian and Universalist thought from the beginning of the Christian era to what we know today as Unitarian Universalism.
"We may help or fix many things in our lives, but when we serve, we are always in the service of wholeness.” This quote was sent to Cathy Cordes recently. It is a reminder of the philosophy of partnerships that UUPCC tries to uphold.
