General Assembly Preview

We hope that many UUPCC members and supporters will be able to come General Assembly in New Orleans!  The UUPCC will once again have a booth in the exhibit hall and several events.  Please stop by our booth and say hello!

Here are some key UUPCC events at GA:

Thursday, June 22
5:00-6:15 pm     UUPCC/ICUU/UUA International Office Worship Service—Convention Center 206-207
UUPCC Board member Rev. Diane Rollert is again coordinating and masterminding this service. Overseas participants will include Rev. Gyerö Dávid from Transylvania and Rev. Darihun Khriam from Northeast India. The theme of the service is “Walk Justly and Humbly: Honoring International Partnerships.”  Come join us in worship!

6:15-8:00 pm     UUA International Office/UUPCC/ICUU reception—Hampton Inn and Suites Pre-Function Area by courtyard
All are welcome to join us for this reception. We’ll hear updates on UUA International Office, UUPCC, ICUU activities and some of our exciting collaborations. Light food and refreshments will be served. It will also be a great chance to mingle with others dedicated to our global U/U faith.  If you plan to come, please RSVP for this free event and get more details at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/global-connections-rejoice-tickets-34301329199.

Friday, June 23
12:00-1:30 pm   UUPCC Luncheon and Annual Meeting—Hampton Inn and Suites Fulton Room
This event has three very important purposes: conducting the business of the UUPCC (including electing Board and Nominating Committee members), honoring 2017 Cornish Award recipient Cathy Cordes (see this newsletter’s lead article) and the recipients of the Steward of Partnership Awards, and having the chance over lunch to talk with other UUPCC members. Lunch costs $39/person. The meal, a New Orleans Farmers’ Market Buffet, will include vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options. The Annual Meeting will start at 12:45 pm. Lunch tickets are not required to attend the Annual Meeting.
